I am going to share some basic knowledge of Meditation and my purpose to share this is that you can apply this at home and can lead a happier and peaceful life.
There are Various Meditation Techniques but today i m Introducing 2 type of Meditation: –
The focus here is on Mindfulness Meditation, which is the best technique for beginner and for all
Let me first Introduce Mindfulness and Concentration Meditation:
Mindfulness Meditation– Technique encourages the Practitioner to Observe wandering thoughts as they drift through the mind.
Concentration Meditation– Technique involve focusing on a single point, repeating a single word or mantra or staring at a candle flame. In this form of meditation, you simply refocus your awareness on the chosen object of attention each time you notice your mind wandering. Through this process, your ability to concentrate improves.
MEDITATION is an approach to training the mind and its extremely difficult for a beginner to sit for hours and think of nothing or have empty mind. But in general, the easiest way to begin Meditating is by Focusing on the Breath….and this is the one of the most common approach to Meditation.
How to Meditate: β Simple Meditation for Beginners
This meditation exercise is an excellent introduction to meditation techniques:
- Sit or lie comfortably
- Close your eyes and breath
- Make no efforts to control your breath; Simply breathe naturally
- Focus your attention on the breath and how the body moves with each inhalation and exhalation.
- Notice the movement of your body as your breath; observe your chest, shoulders, rib cage, and belly, and focus your attention
- If your mind wanders, return your focus to your breath
Follow this route: β
- Choose a Convenient Time- Best time is the hours of sunrise and sunset while nature transitions between day and night, which are ideal for the practice.
- Choose a Quiet Place- Choose a place where you are not likely to be disturbed; instead, you feel enjoyable and relaxing.
- Sit in a Comfortable Posture- Make sure you are relaxed, comfortable, and steady.
- Keep a Relatively Empty Stomach- Good time to meditate is before having a meal, as after food, you might be dozing off π
- Start With a Few Warm-Ups- A few warm-ups remove restlessness and make the body lighter, and you will be able to sit steadily for a longer time.
- Take a Few Deep Breath- This is the again preparation for easy meditation. Nadi Shodhan Pranayama before meditation is always a good idea.
- Keep a Gentle Smile on Your Face β A gentle smile keeps you relaxed, peaceful and enhances your meditation experience.
- Open Your Eyes Slowly and Gently- Donβt be in a hurry to open your eyes. Open your eyes slowly and gradually, and take time to become aware of yourself and your surroundings.
